Park Jeff to have Westhold Electronic Scoring in 2016
Park Jefferson Speedway is very pleased to announce that we will be adopting the Westhold Timing system in 2016 and beyond. Thanks to the wonderful partnership with MyRacePass, Park Jefferson will be able to offer drivers the latest in scoring technology while also allowing drivers the ability to see their own lap times, the lap times of other finishers, and overall speed throughout the course of the race.
“We do a survey every year and our drivers had 2 recommendations for the 2016 year. One of those was a catwalk, and the second was electronic timing & scoring. Our unique partnership with MyRacePass allows us to partner with them and Westhold to provide electronic scoring” state AtoZ owner Adam Adamson. “We examined both the systems, AMB and Westhold. We made the decision on Westhold because the transponder costs were lower for our drivers, and it allows us to integrate the scoring with our website and the MyRacePass driver websites.”
Drivers can purchase their transponders from any location that offers the Westhold yellow transponder. Drivers who have transponders from I 80 Speedway, Shelby County Speedway, Crawford County Speedway(Denison) should be able to use those transponders as normal. The track will need the serial numbers prior to the first race.
Drivers who do not currently have a Westhold transponders will be offered 2 options of purchasing their transponder from Park Jefferson Speedway or any other Westhold provider.
The racetrack will have available for purchase either a hardwired or remote transponder for $175. For the remote transponders, drivers will want to purchase a pouch and a recharger for $35. The second option for drivers will be a lease to own option. Drivers will pay $20/night for the charger and after 11 nights they will own the transponder. Westhold units will also be available for drivers on a rental basis.
Park Jefferson also will look to partner Race Monitor to allow drivers, pit crews and fans follow life updates of timing and scoring on their mobile devices. "We are going to work on having the live scoring available for our fans so they can follow along with their favorite drivers to see up to the minute timing and finishes. This allows them to be closer than ever to their drivers, even if they cannot make it to the track" state Adamson.
Park Jefferson officials as well as a representative from MyRacePass will be on hand to answer questions at the 2016 Park Jefferson banquet. For further information contact the track at 712-202-5540 or email adam@parkjeff.com
