Park Jefferson International Speedway
The Clash highlights Park Jefferson Memorial Day Opener
Park Jefferson Speedway will enjoy and exciting night of racing this coming Saturday as “The Clash” comes to Park Jefferson. Featuring huge prize money for the top open wheel classes, The Clash will see Keizer Wheels Championship Sprint Cars racing for $2,500 to win and SignMasters Modifieds running for $1,000 to win. All 7 classes will be on hand this Saturday night for a very full night of racing. There are only four nights after this that all 7 classes will be competing at the Park Jefferson Speedway so if you want racing, mark those dates down.
In the Keizer Wheels Championship Sprint Cars, Jack Dover looks to continue to build on his past success which has seen him be downright dominant at the track. Able to find the perfect setup regardless of conditions, Dover's 3 year dominance of Park Jefferson Speedway is almost unprecedented. However, the challengers appear to be coming from all corners for this Saturdays race as drivers from North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Kansas all have indicated they will be challenging the current king of the sprint cars.
The SignMasters IMCA Modifieds will also see and exciting opportunity this week as they run for a top prize of $1,000 as well as an opportunity to put their name atop the Fast Shafts All Star Qualifying ballot. Some of the top IMCA pilots in the country will be on the ballot to determine who races in the All Star event at the Boone Super Nationals. As an added bonus, Park Jefferson Speedway and the Jackson Motorplex have partnered to offer an additional $1,000 to sweep the Danny Williams Memorial at Jackson and The Clash at Park Jefferson, which would provide the winner with a $3,000 haul over the 2 days of racing.
This week will also see the first ever IMCA RACEsaver Sprints appear at the Park Jefferson Speedway. The fastest growing division in all of IMCA, the RACEsaver Sprints are providing an affordable form of sprint car racing. While the cars are identical to those that race with the World of Outlaws, the engines are built to last over 3 seasons of racing without freshening.
Park Jefferson will also be hosting a number of the supporters of the facility this Saturday Night as a thank you for all they do to keep the track running.
The Park Jefferson Speedway is located 10 miles north of Sioux City off I-28 Exit 4. Gates open at 5pm with racing slated for 7pm. Adult tickets are $12, Seniors 70+ are $5 and Children 6-16 are $2. For more information go to www.parkjeff.com or call the track phone at 712-202-5540.
