Hobscheidt picks up $5,000 in Modifieds along with Park Jefferson Iron Cups for Luinenburg, Becker, Brunssen & Mahlberg

Five new Iron Cup champions were crowned on Park Jefferson's biggest night of racing as the J&J Fitting sponsored Iron Cup came to a close on Tuesday night.

Jacob Hobscheidt led the entire 35 lap IMCA Modified feature but had to hold off a hard running Shane Demey on the closing laps to pick up the win by only eight tenths of a second. Hoabscheidt got the early jump on the field over fellow front row starter Bob Moore and was cruising early. Meanwhile action was fierce in the back of the pack as Demey was working around the low side of the track to come from tenth. Demey finally moved around Moore and rookie Cody Thompson to secure the second spot, but simply ran out of laps at the finish as Hobscheidt took home his largest victory in his career. Demey was second and all time Park Jefferson win leader Jay Noteboom finished third in what was his 6th start of the season. Jim Mathieson and Chris Abelson picked up the twin qualifiers.

Justin Luinenburg was not to be denied another trip to victory lane as he charged from the second row to pick up the J&J Fitting IMCA stock cars Iron Cup. Luinenburg took command in the mid race and picked up the win over Chance Hollantz and Mike Albertsen.

The race of the night was a green, white and checkered race that ran caution free and saw Wayne Becker pick up the first victory of his career. Becker in his white and red seven got the jump on the field from outside row one. Meanwhile, Beresfords Keegan Nordquist began his charge from the last row and slowly picked his way forward to secure second with 3 laps to go. The fans came out of their seats on the final turn as Becker and Nordquist roared side by side out of turn four just inches apart. In the end, Becker was able to carry his momentum to win by five hundreths of a second over Nordquist as the fans stood and cheered the two drivers and their exceptional skill. Josh Blom rounded out the podium.

The Q & Feather Again IMCA Hobby Stocks saw a very popular victory as young gun Kaleb Brunssen came from outside row two to pick up the 2021 Iron Cup for hobby stocks. Brunssen was able to get to the point using a number of restarts to secure the top spot and held the lead over hard charging Dylan Fitzpatrick and David Miller who finished third. Brunssen continues to build his trophy case and the popular Iron Cup is a sign of bigger races to come.

Caine Mahlberg got the drop on the Fox 620 sport compacts and never looked back as the 24M led all 10 laps from the outset. Kaytee Devries was able to work forward and pick up second and Trent Reed was third.

The 2021 Park Jefferson season comes to an end Saturday, August 14th as the Tri State Dirt Late Model series comes to Park Jefferson on season championship night. Gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00. Adults are $17, seniors $15 and children 6-16 $5. There will be no pay per view of this race so fans are encouraged to come out to Park Jefferson and enjoy the final race at Park Jefferson of 2021.
